Johnny and the Boomers reviews
December 2004 issue of "Take One" DeKalb's monthly entertainment magazine

"Gritty and raw... It's the blues, baby, Johnny and the Boomers style".  The Boomers are giving the blues "a makeover that ushers in a touch of classic rock, blending classic blues riffs with the sounds of Tom Petty and Pink Floyd.  The name Johnny and the Boomers offers a hint to the band's makeup.  Sherman is the youngest at 26, and then the ages get higher from there.  The five other members include Jim Doyle (drums), Terry Racine (bass), Ken Rodd (rhythm guitar), Steve Fierz (keyboard) and Teddy Lawrence (harmonica).  But in seeing the band practice, often with a crowd of fans form the surrounding neighborhood, age is the least of their worries as each member drives home the song.  Their passion for music comes from years of practice...".
Blueseye - The Crossroads Blues Society of Northern Illinois newsletter, October - November 2005

"A special mention should be of Ted Lawrence who sat in on the harp with Ernie.  He is a real-deal Chicago style blues harmonica player.  You can catch him with Johnny and the Boomers and a music jams in Rockford."

"Johnny & the Boomers brought high-energy, old-fashioned rock n' roll to Big Cities Lounge on Saturday, May 27.  Led by 27-year-old Johnny Sherman, the Boomers managed to crank out upbeat, danceable party music and down home blues."
